Getting invited back by the architect and owners to complete not one, but two additional projects is always a sign that you are doing something right. Warren Construction Group partnered with Friends School of Portland and Kaplan Thompson Architects once again to expand and enhance its campus while supporting the school’s commitment to experiential learning, environmental stewardship, and community. The project created modern educational spaces designed to serve current students while accommodating future growth.

Carefully integrated with the existing campus, the expansion included an additional four classrooms, and suspended breezeway, connecting to the original building, and gave the school the needed room to expand, providing flexible spaces that support collaboration, creativity, and hands-on learning. Sustainable building practices and energy-efficient systems were incorporated throughout the project, once again built to passive house standards to align with the school’s values and long-term vision. Highly energy efficient windows and doors where miraculously installed, and a super insulated shell helps ensure this building doesn’t waste energy. 

The completed facility strengthens the educational experience for students and faculty while preserving the welcoming character of the campus. Through thoughtful planning and quality craftsmanship, the project provides a lasting foundation for learning and community engagement for years to come.
