When The Nature Conservancy called, an organization whose mission it is to “conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends” we leapt at the chance to be part of the team. Being able to work in the historic Fort Andross Mill, located in Brunswick, to bring to life and repurpose 9700 square feet of new office space, while meeting WELL Building Standards and becoming a LEED Gold certified project speaks to what we do. The project naturally features a lot of wood, being an old mill the large wood beams where complimented further with yellow birch curved wood walls and maple flooring. This was a complex project, a 3rd floor location, a fully occupied building, highly visible location, tight maneuverability, no storage and no parking, but our planning and co-operative spirit eventually won over a number of less than enthusiastic neighbors. The results speak for themselves.
