Camp Timanous Dining Room & Kitchen
Project Specs
1780 sq ft kitchen 2780 sq ft dining and deck space
This 1920s-era summer camp required an updated kitchen, serving area, and expanded seating as part of its capital and infrastructure improvement plan. Preserving the camp’s character and honoring the historic barn were central to the project’s vision. Warren Construction Group was engaged early by Simons Architects to support preconstruction planning and coordination, ensuring the work could be completed efficiently during the off-season between camp sessions.
The original barn and dining hall were structurally reinforced, with the dining area thoughtfully expanded while maintaining the barn’s existing post-and-beam construction. A covered porch and outdoor deck were added to accommodate outdoor dining and activities. The original kitchen was fully removed and replaced with a new commercial kitchen, featuring two indoor walk-in coolers, professional-grade cooking and cleaning equipment, and ample storage.
